Double Page Spread Plan

This is a basic plan of my double page spread, I decided to have the main image and the main headline occupying the majority of the page as they are what tells the consumer the contents of the article.

Contents Page Plan

This is a very basic plan of my contents page, I decided to have a section dedicated to subscription information to make the magazine feel more realistic and believeable.

Front Cover Plan

This is a basic plan of the layout of my front cover. I have come to the conclusion that the main image is going to fill most of the page along with the main head line.

Textual Analysis - Double Page Spread 3

On this particular double page spread, a series of images are what take up a large section of it leaving only a small part for the text. The images are all different shots of the band 'Avenged Sevenfold' playing their instruments and in concerts. This gives the audience a idea of what the article is going to be about as well as adding colour and interest to the page. The colours on the images are all varied contrasting from reds to blues and everything in between.

The people that are in the band all have similar clothes which is tank tops and dark trousers. They also have tattoos on their arms which is iconic of 'thug like' behaviour which reflects the bands personality and the type of music that they create. The impression I get off the images are that the band plays heavy metal/rock music and possibly scream music.

The article only takes up around quarter of the double page spread and doesn't appear to be jam packed with information like a lot of double page spreads are. The colour of the text is also the original colour of black which could have been possible used to relate to the band and their music that they play. There are also small sections of red text within the article which could be iconic of violence once again relating back to the band.

Textual Analysis - Double Page Spread 2

On this double page spread, the image takes up half of the double page spread. The imageof the band tells the audience that they are relaxed and laid back as they are laid on a bed and wearing casual clothes. They are also surrounded by posters which are all iconic of teenagers and their life which is what the band name is. Teenagers are thought of as being lazy and laid back with not a care in the world but like to dress smart to impress people, the band show the audience this by the image that is given off which all relates back to their band name.

The article only takes up quarter of the page on the right hand side and is in black on a white background which allows it to stand out and make it readable for the audience. Within the section where the article is, there is an image which will relate back to the article and be part of what is being spoken about. There is also a small section that is in blue which is an important quote from the article and this is signified by highlighting in a bright blue colour.

On the far right hand side of the page, there is a small section that has its own masthead that reads 'Everyone's Talking About'. This small section has nothing to do with the article and is basically a small piece of information about other bands. We can tell that this doesn't play a part in the article due to the fact that it is a black backgroundwith white text which is the complete opposite to the colours used for the article.

The colours that are used on the double page spread are mainly blues, blacks and whites. The blue colour that is used is quite bright and stands off the page which is a good way of attracting attention and making the page look interesting and not dull. The connotations of the colour blue are generally sad and upset but for this front cover I do not think that this is what is intended it is jsut to make the page look good.
